Music from the Heart
In Music from the Heart, soprano Louise Jones and pianist Ramon van Engelenhoven invite the audience on a poetic journey through the many faces of love.
From the tender intimacy of Fauré and Strauss to the fiery passion of Puccini and Donizetti, each song tells its own story of longing, dreams and memory.
The programme weaves arias and songs from different stylistic periods into a single musical narrative, in which passion, vulnerability and consolation gently alternate.
Ramon van Engelenhoven (1995), Edison nominee and winner of awards including the Princess Christina Competition and Dutch Classical Talent, is regarded as one of the most promising pianists of his generation. His playing combines technical virtuosity with a rare sensitivity to sound and expression. Ramon performs regularly in leading concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg and the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, and is also active internationally, including performances in Hamburg and Saint Petersburg.
Together, Louise and Ramon present a recital that comes straight from the heart. Music that moves, connects, and continues to resonate long after the final note has faded.
